A lot of my fur friends have been asking me what food I take away and how my humans prepare and store it when travelling, particularly when we are off-grid in remote locations for weeks at a time.

Well the good news is my food for remote camping is exactly the same as what I always would eat at home. We just prepare and stock up a little more when heading to remote areas, as when travelling to some locations there are absolutely NO supermarkets to buy ingredients from. It's better to have too much food than it would be to run out (although I wouldn't really mind living off mud crabs and barramundi like the humans do to be honest!)
Very are very lucky to have a full sized fridge/freezer in our caravan, along with an extra smaller sized fridge/freezer in our car for food storage. My mummy cooks up a big batch of my supaw special food and freezes meal-sized portions in snap lock bags for me. We usually keep 3-4 in the fridge at a time to defrost and the balance we keep in the freezer and take out to defrost when needed.

Here’s the recipe:
Ingredients:
3kg Raw beef mince
8 cups brown rice
4 x sweet potatoes
5 x carrots
sometimes we also add in 1 x zucchini if available
Recipe:
Chop up veggies in small cubes and boil until soft
Cook rice as per packet instructions
Allow to everything cool
Mix cooked ingredients with raw beef mince and pop 1 x cup portions into snap lock bags
Freeze until ready to use
MOST IMPAWTANT STEP: allow fur child to lick the bowl 😉 😛 😋
**Side note: This is just what I like to eat, you can mix it up to suit your specific requirements and nutritional needs
Happy cooking!
